For instance Corporate/Home networks, cyber caf's and so on.Local area networks are difficult and stressful to manage. Especially in organizations that have practically non-existent IT support. LanTool can help with such tasks, and because it runs as a system service, it is available even before a user logs in. Incorporating a compact design and yielding a low memory footprint, LanTool offers unrivalled performance, and allows easy access to information on your Windows-based network. LanTool supports features like, remote shutdowns, restarts or session locking workstations, logging off users or snapshots of currently active computers on the network. Furthermore, useful information is available such as username of person logged on to a particular machine, idle time, MAC address, IP addresses, system uptime, processes running, etc. LanTool lets you transfer files on the network and it is a huge improvement over the standard means provided by the operating system. LanTool's file transfer* is more reliable for example with the resume and throttle features, more flexible in allowing broadcasting of a file to all the computers on the network, the ability to set the way the network bandwidth is to be used during transfers with LanTool's traffic modelling* feature. LanTool also supports network inventory features, find out what hardware is connected to a remote machine, applications installed, and useful information about your network adapters, such as packets sent, errors. Finally, there are network bandwidth tests to get an idea of the quality of links between two points on your network. * These features are either currently in development or have not been fully tested. Important notice for LanTool Beta users : It has been brought to our attention that some anti-virus solutions may be falsely detecting the LanTool beta as a virus. This is not the case, and we are currently working with them to resolve this issue.
